As a child getting to high school seemed like it was going to take life time. I remember swinging in my favorite swing at Jefferson Elementary with my friends at recess time talking about how we couldn’t wait to be “High Schoolers”; obviously, our innocent mind thinking everything was going to be easier. Wow! How time has passed! Today I’m sitting here working on my Senior Project with so much in mind. So many things I want to do, so many goals I have yet to accomplish. I’m finally a Senior and now it’s time to grow up, I am now mature enough to realize that my future will depend on the actions I choose to make and the opportunities I choose to take from this point on.
One of the best things about working on this project has been being able to brainstorm my plans, kind of like creating a rough draft about my future. My plans for this year which is my last at Lindsay High School is to learn as much as I possibly can in all my classes, specially my CNA course. I have always had a big interest in the medical field, I like to care for others and working in the medical field is definitely one of the biggest goals I would like to accomplish in life; therefore, I want to be able to absorb as much as I can so that I will be better prepared for the real world. I also plan to get good grades and be able to graduate and participate in my 2016 class ceremony.
After being able to accomplish the first steps to my future which are to successfully complete my CNA course, graduate and participate in the ceremony I plan to obtain employment as a CNA. I’ve always wanted to work at Lindsay Gardens here in town, since I was little I remember passing by there and seeing patients outside looking down like they had nothing or no one to even live for. It brakes my heart to know that many of them are left alone there and motivates me even more to want to care for them. I must admit that I’m very motivated to care for patients and for that reason college is a must on my list of goals while working. I know it will be difficult but who ever said anything good in life was supposed to be easy?
My parents are a big influence to me. They have always motivated me to do good and if I am doing good they motivate me to do better. They have always talked to me about how important education is and everything good that comes from it, for those reasons and many more I want to attend college and complete a Registered Nurse career so that one day I can start giving back to them everything they have given to me.
I know there might be many obstacles this year but I will always keep my parents in mind and all those patients who need employers who will truly care for them and not just do it for the money or benefits they might get out of the job. I hope to look back at this essay the day of my ceremony and say to myself “I am doing it! This is the beginning of a great future and my parents are proud!”. Lookout senior year because it is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars!
